Spicules, used improperly, can cause serious damage to the skin barrier. And they are not FDA-approved for use in cosmetic products. So, as a responsible industry expert, I need to make people aware of the potential risks.
I feel the same way about exosomes and wrote an article about it a few weeks ago.
Love hearing your take on this. My skin didn't like these, nor did I see any big glow-up afterward. Maybe I didn't use them long enough/consistently enough, but there's plenty of skincare I see both long-term and immediate results from that doesn't feel like my skin's burning from 1,000 tiny suns.
Thanks about the informations. Didn't know it has more ''ingredient boost properties''. It is a very harsh ingredient that brands and influencers should put a trigger warning on before using It. Probably more effective using It only one a week ?
I purchased the VT cica hydrogel mask, which includes the Reedle Shot 100 as an essence to apply before the hydrogel mask. It's supposed to be calming. I used the mask at night and the next morning my face looked so much better in terms of texture, so I went ahead and purchased another mask. The essence did not hurt nor did it leave any redness behind, it just felt odd but OK.
For context: I was on isotretinoin for 12 months and finished treatment in March. My skin is dry but is slowly gaining back some oil, and I get millium on my forehead.
However, I did not consider any of the things pointed out, like "microscopic sponge needles living in your face for up to three days." As someone who had to endure isotretinoin's effects on the body because my sudden cystic acne was not going away by any other means, I am paranoid abour open wounds on the face + bacteria.
I just got this product in the 100ml bottle for my birthday and I'm now considering returning it (I haven't opened it yet!) The only reason I might keep it is because of the pairing with tranexamic acid, but is it worth the potential negative effects? I don't know.
The Reedle 100 is mild, so I wouldn't worry if you've already used it without any adverse reaction. But if you do have any open acne cysts, I proceed with caution.
In Australia these products are not available in stores as far as I’m aware.
I don’t understand why these products are readily available in the US. It sounds more like an in clinic treatment that should be performed by aestheticians.
I have the 100 version of Reedle shot. I have thick, oily skin, so it only stings for a few seconds. But I rarely put a serum over it, so I probably was wasting any effects, lol. I didn't know how long it potentially stayed in your skin, that was interesting.
