You're psychic, Kevin. I JUST thought to myself this morning that I need to pick up some Prequel Multi-Quench. I notice a visible difference without it, especially after a tretinoin night.

Take a look at their new Multi Quench Mist. It's also really nice.

I was wondering if it's also a winner. Thanks, I'll try it!

Hi Kevin,

Hello from West Coast Canada!

Thanks for this report! Definitely enjoyed it. ❤️There’s so many products on the market, it certainly makes it tough for the general public to make the right decisions. I always love your reviews and yes, stick to the clinical data and do your homework always pays off. 👍🏻

And I certainly agree with you about hyaluronic acid, it’s been around so long. I remember when MAKE UP FOR EVER launched hyaluronic acid serum, probably 20 years ago. Back then it was hard to find a bottle on its own, not very big people even knew what it !!

It’s just in everything now and there are way better products out there that delivers way better hydration results!

Hi, I want to say that I find this information a true guide, filled with real light, that serves my work purpose: to convey the reality of science, not marketing, whose goal is to make money. For this reason, I thank you so much for these articles, which help me to continually improve my work. Imma Ramieri, makeup artist

Bonjour ! What do you think of beta glucan ? Feel more effective than HA.

Kevin James Bennett's avatar

I love Beta Glucan, but not many US brands are actively formulating with it, even though it has impressive specs. They're all still deep in the black hole of Hyaluronic Acid, even though there are much better hydration alternatives. I mean, glycerin is safer and more effective than HA, but they've added HAs to so many products that it's going to take years for these brands to reformulate with safer, more effective ingredients.

So beta glucan is only use in Korean skincare brands ?

Kevin James Bennett's avatar

No. It appears in some US products, but it hasn't been featured enough or marketed enough for consumers to look for it. It replaces HAs, with many additional benefits, so brand marketers are hesitant to embrace it when they're still heavily promoting HAs in every damn thing they can add it to.

I see, thank you for the informations.

I’m really enjoying the Prequel product you turned me on to. It is an anti-redness serum. Should I try more of their things?

Kevin James Bennett's avatar

The Prequel Lucent C ($23.00 USD) is as good or better than Skinceuticals CE Ferulic ($185.00). Skinceuticals has managed to keep this effective, yet overpriced serum on lock because they had a patent on the formula - but that formula is 25 years old, and the patent is up this year. This means any company can reproduce that formula. But why would you want to reproduce a 25-year-old formula when there has been so much skincare technology since its launch?

And I've already featured Prequel's Multi Quench Hydrating Serum in two articles because it's an outstanding formula built on polyglutamic acid (PGA), not hyaluronic acid (HA).

Ohhh I’ll definitely have to try some of these things out and maybe put them into my kit.

Are any of these items in your kit, Kevin?

I carry the LaRoche Posay Cicaplast Spray, and the Prequel Multi Quench in my kit. And I carry Dieux moisturizers (article on them later this week).
