Parabens as a preservative system is an extremely divisive topic in cosmetics and gets a lot of press, mostly bad. But, when it comes to short-chain parabens like methylparaben and propylparaben, actual clinical scientific data tell a reassuring story - NOT a horror story. More importantly, we as professionals in this industry need to push back against ingredient fear-mongering that lacks clinical scientific evidence (looking right at you, EWG 🤬 and your ingredient fear-mongering bullsh*t).
